Well, well, look who decided to join the party — and only 16 days late! Sophia Lois was born at 7:47pm on July 4 (to her uber-patriotic daddy’s delight) after a long day of laboring at home with my supportive husband and wonderful midwives. She was 8 pounds, 10 ounces + 21 inches long. We love her pudgy cheeks, roly-poly arms, and little chicken legs. She has a lot of dark hair, squinty little eyes, and pretty lips (that are almost always looking for food).
This birth was, to my surprise, much longer + more difficult than Eli’s, but there were no complications and we really loved being at home for all of it. Especially the part where the midwives left and we all drifted off to sleep in our own bed to the sound of far-off fireworks. Perfect.

just totally amazing. what a gift. love you guys so much. you’re beautiful and so is you’re daughter. :)
you’re daughter = your daughter
oops
I knew you were using midwives but I didn’t know you got to deliver at home! How awesome! I would love to do that! Congratulations.
This is the way it’s supposed to be done! I thank God for blessing you richly with the privilege and joy of healthy pregnancies/births! Big hugs to your sweet family!
We (and I’ve designated myself spokesperson for all your faithful readers :) would like to see some pictures of Sophie and Eli together.
for what it’s worth, you guys make a pretty fantastic baby.
Way to go for adding another girl to the family! She is so sweet and roly poly. And I loved seeing your midwives…it’s great to peak into such an amazing moment!
Thanks for the update and pictures. I can not wait to hold her and hug both of you and my sweet Eli!!!!
Congratulations! I had my second at home. It was so nice to labor at home. Well, I mean…nice for labor.
Congratulations! I am so glad she is finally here and that you could have her in your new home!! That’s a wonderful way to inaugurate your new place! I’m looking forward to getting more details from Brite.
