About a week ago, we thought I was going into labor, and we finished up some of the big projects around the house + got it all cleaned up. It would have been a great time to take some pictures for the blog. We missed our window, however … and not only have I still not had that baby, but the house has gotten progressively messier as I’ve procrastinated doing things — after all, surely any minute now I’m going to kick into labor and my mother can come do my laundry/dishes/tidying up. :)
Until then, these little teaser photos will have to do. I’m excited about how much we’ve gotten done — Nathan finished constructing our built-in bookshelves in both the living room AND our bedroom, we’ve painted 7 out of 11 rooms, and most of the original trim is back up and repainted (we had to take a lot of it down to sand and restore it). We’ve still got loads to do, but the house is in a state that I can feel good about bringing a new baby into, and more importantly, that I can sit in any given room and nurse the baby without staring around me in horror at all the unfinished projects. That was a real concern.

11 rooms? Dang girl, do you live in a mansion??
So understand not wanting to look around your house in horror. That was much my motivation pre-baby as well, but it only got me so far! Best wishes.
11 rooms DOES sound large … but it’s only 1500 square feet. Kitchen, living, dining, office, 2 bathrooms, foyer, upstairs hall, + 3 bedrooms (two of which are tiny!).
So which yellow did you go with in the bathroom? I know I’ll see it when I come to clean your house….er, I mean visit my new granddaughter, but I’m curious.
We (and I’m sure I speak for all your many readers) want to see pictures of your new couch.
I love the yellow/giraffe paint job in the bathroom.
No really though, obv I love everything I’ve seen.
that WAS a tease, but i understand completely. what a blessing that it’s not horrifying anymore. :) i have been thinking about you because nat and i are about to go tackle our storage unit. it needs to be majorly cleaned out so we can put stuff from here into there to make more room! minimization–i love it–you taught me how! your house is so beautiful. i wish i could come and bless you with service and food galore! *sigh* glad your mom is so awesome. love you!
Looks great…I love it and want to come and see the little lady of the house.
I love the door and door know (I guess that’s what it’s called)!! I can’t wait to see more pics. It definitely makes me look forward to having a place of my own.
Praying the baby comes soon! Ugh!!
You crack me up . . . mostly because I can relate to the comment about not wanting to sit and see unfinished projects! I need to hurry up and get my major ones done too. Love your white top . . . you look amazing!
