Whilst standing in the kitchen + eating a cookie, I looked over at my son, who was munching on some wheat puffs. It just didn’t seem fair. Recognizing Eli’s ability to turn ANYthing into a huge mess, I gave him the one that appeared to have the fewest chocolate chips. Somehow, he managed to do this:
I’m not sure how he was able to accomplish this with only one chocolate chip… but the mess was nothing compared to the sugar high that followed:

Chocolate chip cookies make me feel the exact same way.

see, me coming to your blog EVERY day and rarely seeing a post is SO worth it when you post things like this. ugh, i totally melted. i love him. i love you!
This is why my kids are still eating wheat puffs way into their teens.
(Hmmm…, I guess I can’t get away with lies like that, especially on one of my own kid’s blogs.)
So glad you’re capturing moments like this for the far-away Grandmas.
so so SO cute!!!!! <3 <3
“Mary-Faith. Did you eat all the candy bars?”
“No.”
“Then what is all over your face and hands?”
[Thoughtful pause.]
“Poop.”
So Adorable! He is a cutie, even when his face is covered with chocolate! I guess he must have inherited his grandmother’s love of chocolate, but is she quite so messy??? :)
Shep, that’s so funny. I honestly thought of that when I saw Eli’s face and wondered if any of you would remember it. The only part you left out was the hours of interrogation before the tearful, “Alright, alright…It’s… it’s…Poop!”
i just came here again. i’m sorry, ok? i’m a stalker. or, maybe i’m just a big fan of your family. anyway. i read shep’s comment and about spit out my tea. i actually remember that story. so hilarious!
