Thanks for your thoughts on this book. Your sister mentioned it to me a little while ago. I much admit part of me dreads starting to read it because I’m afraid it will reduce us to food introversion but it is definitely on my “Must Read” list. Thanks for more info on it.

I loved the book by Barbara Kingsolver ” Animal, Vegitable, Miracle” that Dayna mentioned…it was easy to read and had LOTS of helpful info packed into it! Thanks for the review. Hope you are well. And give us the plan you are implementing pronto tonto!

i don’t think omar would have let me read that book had he known how it would change our “food-life.” ;) let’s just say there are a lot more grains/beans in this house now than chicken wings/burgers.

i really appreciated his book. i think “in defense of food” and nina planck’s “real food” are sort of like the “how-to” books once you’ve read “the omnivore’s dilemma” and others like it.

looking forward to hearing how it’s affected your family’s eating/buying habits!

Very good, my friend! I was actually interested in reading In Defense of Food, but haven’t gotten around to it. This looks like a good one, too. I think Barbara Kingsolver may have mentioned it in Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. Have you read it?

Yes, we certainly are left with a dilemma. What to do with this information? I can see that this sort of eye-opening was part of my preparation for moving here. There are many changes to make, however, and it won’t be easy.
